The Bruins Have Signed Craig Smith To A Three Year Deal
The B's have announced that they've signed former Nashville Predators forward Craig Smith to a 3 year deal with an AAV of 3.1 million. I'm usually disappointed by Don's UFA additions but Smith should be a great fit in Boston. He's a middle six kind of guy, will most likely play with Charlie Coyle, but that's a big bolster for the 3rd line. Consistent two way forward that will chip in offensively, so that's great value too at 3.1 per (was making 4.25 prev in NASH).
Truly thought he made too much sense as a fit with Boston that Don wouldn't do it and well what do ya know.
From the Bruins release...
Smith, 31, skated in 69 games with the Nashville Predators in 2019-20, recording 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points with a plus-18 rating.
Smith has reached the 20-goal mark in five of his nine NHL seasons. The 6-foot-1, 208-pound forward has appeared in 661 career NHL games with Nashville, totaling 162 goals and 168 assists for 330 points with a plus-67 rating. Since entering the league in 2011-12, he leads Nashville in games played, ranks second in goals and third in points. Smith has also played in 52 career postseason games, tallying seven goals and nine assists for 16 points.
Still some room to sign Taylor Hall…
